Coats in good condition may be donated at various locations throughout findlay including, city dry cleaning (downtown) and Findlay city and Hancock county school buildings. Businesses or organizations wishing to be a collection site may pick up a collection box at city dry cleaning at 116 east main cross street.
Collection will begin on November 16th and will wrap up November 20th. Due to the time required to clean the coats and organize distribution, we cannot accept coats after November 20th.
Saturday, December 5th distribution will be from 9 am - 3 pm. Coats will be available again on Sunday, December 6th from 1 pm - 3 pm. There is no financial restriction for eligibility; therefore anyone in need of a coat or hat and mittens is welcome.
Distribution will take place at City Apparel, 120 Bentley Court, Findlay. Be a shopper-helper:

We ask that distribution volunteers arrive 15 minutes early for a brief orientation.
Volunteers – in addition to your individual assistance, it is always fun to work with people you know! Why not get a group of your colleagues, employees, family or friends to share in a meaningful holiday project? Because of safety and liability issues, all volunteers for the following tasks must be at least 14 years old.
Hanging coats at City Apparel located at 120 Bentley Court in Findlay. Assist with hanging and loading of cleaned coats. Shifts are 4pm - 5:30pm from Monday, November 30th through Thursday, December 3rd.
November 30th and December 1st - 3rd
Set up on Monday, November 30th at City Apparel beginning at 1pm.
Sorting and organizing coats on the racks from 5pm - 7pm
Taking down scaffolding and boxing up leftover coats at City Apparel:
Sun, Dec. 6th time is: 3pm - 4pm or until done.
Hats, mittens and blankets collection – in addition to coats, new hats and mittens are needed. Collecting hats and mittens can be a fun service project for our youth, service organizations or clubs.

Since we can’t use Glenwood Middle School this year the set up and event will be at City Apparel’s warehouse located at 120 Bentley Court, Findlay, Ohio. This is out by Frickers.
Scaffolding set up will be in the warehouse on Monday November 30th at 1:00 p.m. and volunteers can come and help with set-up.
Coat Hanging and Sorting with be as follows: Monday November 30th through Thursday December 3rd from 4-5:30 p.m. each day in the City Apparel warehouse.
Distribution will take place on Saturday December 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday December 6th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with tear down following the event.
Due to health restrictions, all volunteers are required to wear a mask, practice social distancing and sign a release. A separate request for volunteers with assignment details will be emailed to everyone on our mailing list.
